This was our post cruise hotel. The lobby area was very nice with restaurant and bar. Our room was okay but not what we expected for Hilton. Things in the room were quite dated. We were traveling with another couple and they were put on the other side of the hotel. Our room overlooked a roof the was in need of repair so not a good view at all. The room was reasonably clean and the bed was comfortable.
Room Tip: Higher floors may have nice view!

First off, as other TA’s have commented, this place is beyond dated. I don’t think the furnishings have been refreshed in a long time. Long gone are the glory years. But it goes deeper than furnishings. This property has some serious structural issues that need to be addressed. Read more….

They’ve filled in the hottub and turned it into a giant planter. I’m guessing as a response to the Americans with disabilities act requirements for accessibility. I would not stay here again. Add in the room has a “view” of the building’s mechanicals, and it’s being an unpleasant stay.

The staff tried hard to fix multiple problems on arrival. Non of the prearrival requests were accomplished. Check-in held until exactly 3:00. Several rooms available prior but not assigned to any honors gold members. First room assigned was below average. Second room was too small for the bed, only room for one night stand, no dresser, desk too large for the size of the room, tv stand/furniture too large for room. No room to open a suitcase without moving something else or on the bed. Bathroom was smaller then the one we had on the cruise prior to arrival. Room was not serviced on 2 of 8 days and we had to call down when we got in at 8/9 at night and ask for service. Blackout curtains need to be replaced with ones that fit the windows.
This room looks to have been part of a larger suite and should not be offered as a stand alone “Premium” floor room.
We were too tired to move a second time a decided to just spend as little time at the hotel as possible.
Will not return to this property.

I would have given no star had I have a choice.
The Alaska Adventure Unlimited booked us two rooms at this hotel. Upon checking in, I requested to have a roll-away bed for one of the rooms. I was told that the bed would be delivered and set up in 20 mins. We went out for dinner and afterwards, strolling the streets of Anchorage downtown a bit and was back at the hotel at 9:30 pm – we had to get up a 5:45 am to check out and catch the train to Seward. booked this hotel thinking I would get quality, you know cause it’s the Hilton, right? Wrong, insert fail trumpet here. First room I stayed in wasn’t clean. Informed the front desk and and asked them to clean it while I went out for a few hours. Came back a few hours later, still not clean. The room looked like someone went on a pub crawl then came back and spilled beer on the door then left bottle caps under the table. I immedietly asked to be moved to another room which was clean. I also paid for some chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of champaign to be in the room at check in. When I Asked the front desk they had no idea what I was talking about. I had to get my receipt from my initial booking and explain to them what I had planned. Even still the strawberries and champagne where not in the room until I left for a second time. Hotels should ask what your intent of travel so that they can coordinate room service. twice they came up at 8 am while we were still in bed so we missed the service. They said they would come back later in the day but never did until we had to go back to front desk and ask them to come clean. Finally the coffee machine in the room was crusty and I refused to use it. Also apparently a fire alarm went off in the morning because we were woken up by a loud voice asking us not to be alarmed due to a false fire alarm. we never heard alarms or saw any flashing lights.
Pros where the vallet service. Guys where very friendly and accommodating. They get five stars. The bed was very comfortable and the bathrooms in the room where also very nice. Also gets five stars.
In summary this is a one star experience. I will never stay here again and I do not recommend the Anchorage Hilton to anyone. I doubt I’ll stay at Hilton again. just goes to show quality is not in name…it’s in the service and experience.

The hotel, the location and staff is excellent.
The place to stay in ANC if you travel the AK railroad (from Seward to Denali/Fairbanks). Rooms on the upper floors facing mt. Susitna offers a good view of July’s late sunset.
Room Tip: To view a beautiful sunset, book a room on the upper floors facing mount Susitna.

The hotel does not offer any parking for guests, so on top of your room charge, you need to figure another $24.00 for parking. There is no breakfast, you hear Every noise and conversation from the hallways, an elevator was stuck for 15 minutes (with people inside). In all, this is an aging hotel that is still charging premium prices.

This hotel has a nice lobby but the rooms need updated & the entire hotel needs sanitized. The location is good but not excellent. The staff is friendly though. It was a quiet hotel. The wifi was really slow. We never ate in the restaurant so can’t comment on it.
