Great location, wonderful staff, but really needs a facelift

This hotel is close to everything walkable in downtown Anchorage, plus the Alaska Railroad train station. Lots of cute restaurants and shopping. But the hotel has a really tired vibe to it, dark cramped hallways, carpets were dirty, the outlet in my bathroom was not functional because the GFI switch was broken. The finish on the vanity was chipped, and all in all, it was a depressing room. The views are fabulous – i was high up in the Anchorage Tower, so i have no idea if the West Tower is any better. Owners really should remodel this property. I picked it because of location and a desire to stay in a HIlton property, but i suspect the Embassy Suites a little further out would have felt more welcoming. That said, the food in the restaurants was excellent and the bed comfortable..but not enough outlets in the room for everything i needed to charge, and it was a challenge getting the television to do what i wanted it to do. And while the view was great – there were way too many bars in the way. The climate control system was incredibly noisy as well. Read more.

Old, run down, dirty, not worth the money

Worst Hilton I have ever had the displeasure of staying. Very old and run down, everything from paint, carpet, and bathrooms are in complete disrepair. I would be embarrassed to have this as a representation of a National brand. Lobby bathroom smells strongly of sewer and several toilet seats are broken. Elevators are broken and many do not have current inspection certificates. Only positive is the gym was recently remodeled and locker rooms were acceptably clean and maintained. If you need to stay downtown I would recommend Captain Cook or Marriott, do not waste your money at the Hilton. Read more.

I really don’t write bad reviews but felt our experience warranted this review:
My husband & I traveled to Anchorage with our 3 month old for the first time. I recognize that July is peak season here, however we arrived and received little to no priority or consideration by the front desk Read More…

So awful. First, front desk is not helpful and does not communicate. Our rooms were not ready until 4pm and then they were not what we booked. Tired old hotel, out dated, dirty.  Read more…

I can’t believe that I am writing this bad review for a Hilton but here it goes. The air conditioning is broken and we have to have the window opened with the LOUD street noise, loud partying and loud music blaring from nearby club somewhere in the city. Read more…

“Anywhere BUT Hilton in Anchorage…”

Hotel is not up to the Hilton Brand and this facility needs a major overhaul. Staff doesn’t care so if you have to stay there, be prepared to be ignored. They will look at you like you are not there and do not listen.

“Anchorage Dissapointment”

Not a good value. The room service was very slow and the food was terrible. Would not stay there again and would not recommend this hotel. There are better hotels in the Anchorage area. Parking is a real problem. There is no place to park.
